My Excel file has deactivated commands, set print area

Have used this Excel 97-compatible file daily for months with Excwl 2007, and
unexpectedly most of the buttons in the menu are not available (not colored,
and no action when used). Also, there is the word "[Group]" in the file name
or property on the top bar of the Excel window.
