Opened PPoint to find that the font and font size pull-downs have no font or
size selections in the menus. All I see is white fields that are selectable
(white turns to blue upon mouseover) but nothing actually gets selected. I
used Ppoint a LOT last week and it worked fine. Same presentation that worked
last week has no fonts or sizes this week. No new applications loaded or
other changes to computer since last week. Help!

Have you checked your other applications? Do Word and Excel work okay? Menus
okay?

Close PowerPoint and locate the .PCB file (do a search for *.PCB in Windows) and
rename it, giving it an extension of .OLD. Then open PowerPoint and see if the
menu works.

Yes, Excel and Word are fine. Renamed PPT10.pcb to PPT10.old.pcb - no affect.
Thank you for your help!

Dang. Weird one.
Do you have a printer driver installed and set as the default printer?
Sounds almost as if it's been changed to something *really* basic like an
old fax printer driver or something.

Nope. Printer is same as usual. I've been thinking about everything I did
today. When I first started Outlook this AM, I was asked if I want to install
the language pack for Japanese. I did a full install of Outlook recently
(this is a new tablet PC) so I thought all lang packs would be installed
already, but I agreed anyway and put the Office XP Pro CD in and the install
failed - couldn't find the file on the CD or some such. After that I happened
to open Ppoint and get to work, when I noticed the problem. I tried going
back to a previous system restore point (a few days ago) but that didn't help.
Any other ideas? I may just have to un-install Office and start over (and
NEVER install a lang pack again!!).
Thanks a lot for your advice.
