My frontpage website looks different when browsed on different co.

I created my webpage on a widescreen laptop, and the site looks fine when
browsed on any widescreen computer. However, when the site is browsed on a
normal computer, the pictures and text are all moved around and it looks
terrible, sometimes even requiring the person browsing to scroll sideways.
Is there a way to make the site look consistent on both types of monitors?
