My genuine office activation key does not work!!!

i live in Turkey. I bought a toshiba laptop from
USA a few months ago. it came with a pre-loaded ms office 2003 version. i
entered the trial key and used ms office till the activation time. BUT now i
am trying to activate my ms office by entering the product key on the package
and it keeps saying: you havent entered a valid product key.

So if the key on the package is not valid what can i do?
please help, i have no idea, at least offer me some contact info to learn
about it.
i am not sure if i will be able to find this page again for the answer.

double check that you are entering the correct key

common mistakes/trouble are

zeroes and ohs (0/O)
ones and eyes (1/I)
bees and eights (B/8)
threes and eeees (3/E)
esses and fives (S/5)
etc etc
