My headers are not appearing in my document... how do I fix this?

My headers have appeared to simply disappear. When I click, header/footer it
will show me what is supposed to be there but when I confirm it the header no
longer appears.

Would help if you said what version of Word you are asking about.

In Word 2002 or 2003, click on Tools | Options | View tab | check the
"White space between pages" box | OK.

In Word 2007, click on Office button | Word Options | Display | check
the "Show white space between pages in Print Layout view" box | OK.

I apologize I have Office Word 2003 (Teachers Edition if that matters). The
'white space between pages' is automatically checked but says for print only.
I really need it to show (it used to, not sure why) because it is for a
paper that I need to turn in for school (online) and headers are required.

Thanks you.

Headers are only visible in Print Layout view and in Print Preview.
Headers are not visible in Normal view. This is true in all versions of
Word. If you created headers in your document, then the headers will
print even if they don't show in Normal view.

I understand what you are saying but I've seen them in the past (for years).
This happened one other time to me but soon after I had to reformat my
computer and reinstalled the software so it wasn't an issue, however, as I
said I've seen them in the past. Thank you anyway, I will just inform my
professor as so I'm not docked points.
