My Hit Counter is now counting in reverse

Hi,

Strange happenings.

I made a simple, unrelated change to my website today. Now, the hit
counter is counting in reverse.

How can I stop this?

Henceforth, face your back to the computer monitor and
use a mirror to look over your shoulder.

More seriously, the usual cause of this is a custom
counter picture with digits in the order 9876543210
rather than 0123456789. Could the unrelated change have
been a new copy of the hit counter picture?

Dear Jim,

Thanks. I tried the mirror trick and it worked. Don't ask me why or
how, but now it's counting up again. BTW, I'm using the standard
digital counter with 5 digits max. On one page I'm at 3,750 hits and
about 25,000 on the other.

I guess just receiving your email put my site on notice that we were
on to it's tricks.

Dear Victoria,

You don't want to be in this universe. Without even offering an
apology my hit counter is now counting in the right direction. The
downside is, neither you nor I can revisit and fix the past.
