My inbox messages have disappeared

My inbox messages have disappeared. If I do a search in the find box I can
get the messages back, but as soon as I close the find box, the messages are
still not visible in the normal inbox. I've even tried to drag the messages
from the find box to the inbox with no success. Please help

When you successfully find the messages, what folder is
listed for their location? The inbox or ???
