MY NOTEBOOKS HAVE DISAPPEARED IN ONENOTE

Went into OneNote this morning. All my notebooks have disappeared and I just
have loads of Section Groups and Sections. Tried creating new Notebooks to
copy these Sections into but got an error message saying 'Notebook already
exists'. Checked 'My Documents' and yes the Notebooks are there with the
correct file path. How do I get my Notebooks back into OneNote so they are
displayed properly?

What about re-opening the notebooks the normal way using File, Open,
Notebook ... ?

Hi Bernd,

Just did this in the File->Open in OneNote. The dialogue box appeared ok
with all the Notebooks I used to be able to see in OneNote, but they are all
in C:My Documents. However, they are still showing as Section Groups and
Sections in OneNote itself. Sorry if I'm being dense but how do I get them
back into OneNote itself? Thanks for your help.

I am not entirely sure how your notebooks disappeared, I suspect you
accidentally collapsed them or went into "full page mode". Can you try
tapping the F11 function key to see if it brings them back ? Otherwise
click on the small ">" symbol on the top left near your section group.

It's just happened to me too

Exactly the same just happened to me! All my Onenote notes have just vanished, too! There's nothing at all in the active notebook. The files still exist under My Documents, and there are file pages under backup, but nothing in the notebook. Restarted my computer and it's just the same...

I had the same problem but i found them /skydrive/documents/Personal(web)/Unfiled Notes/

sync that directory and your notes and books will be back

The same thing happened to me, and this is frustrating. I used to work inside the notebook "Personal" but I created additional notebooks such as "Work", "Publication" etc.and moved a ton of sections from Personal to newly-made notebooks. But all the new notebooks just disappeared together with all the moved sections. Only the Personal notebook remains in all my computers and on Onedrive. Can anybody help me to recover the new notebooks I created?
