My office 2003 runs slow when I look for a "save in" folder

I have Office 2003 and do clean ups all the time. When I create a letter or
create anything and want to put it into a folder and I browse it takes
forever for the browse item to appear. Say I browse to my docs, it takes
forever to bring it up ,how come? I have a fast computer and do all required
maintenance.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
