<< "Any one know how to get a replacement Office XP Disc"? >>
Open your web browser (I.e.. Internet Explorer or Netscape)
and your favorite search engine. Type in "oem software"
(including the quotes). You will find many sites that will
sell you a new one at very inexpensive prices. These are
authentic, original products, but they do not have a manual
and there is no product support offered, buy hey! who needs
it? Why should anyone want to pay the prices that Microsoft
charges per minute when you call them? If you have problems,
you can always come here to this NG for help.
I have bought software from one of these sites. I bought
Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Office XP
Professional together for only $80.00 altogether, and I am
VERY SATISFIED with what I got. What I got were two CDs
--one for each product--and they even have the S/N Key
printed directly on each of the CDs so I will NEVER lose them
--unless I lose the CDs.
I would make another suggestion while I am at it. You are not
the first that I have read that has said that you could not find
where you had put your CDs. I have bought a special CD
notebook for all of my installation CDs and I keep it on my desk
near my computer. Whenever I need to reinstall a program,
the CDs are always there. In addition, since they are safely
tucked away in the notebook, that minimizes the risk of breakage.
