My Outlook 2002 will no longer send and receive after archiving

After an unplanned archive a new pst file was automatically created and old
one renamed. New file would not send and receive but once old pst was opened
that file would. After deleting new file and renaming old one it would not
send and receive. New file is now deleted. Repair and reinstall office 2002
does not fix.

An archive does not rename or create a new pst other than a new archive pst,
& only if you entered a new archive name
Uninstall / reinstall of OL does nothing to the data files or profile.
I would suspect you have corrupted your Profile, create a new one, add the
correct pst & create / test accounts
(Via Control Panel>Mail Applet, with OL closed)

Hello FatherDavid,

Archiving shouldn't rename any files. The archived mail by default should be
placed in a file called archive.pst. The default Outlook pst file is called
outlook.pst.

Use the Control panel to check the properties of your profile and point it
to the correct PST file. If that still causes you grief, create a new profile
and point it to the correct PST file or create a new one.
