My Outlook 2003 freezes up often - fix needed?

My Outlook 2003 Small Business Edition will often - 2-3 times a day - freeze
up. Then in takes 4-6 minutes before it un-freezes and it works again. I
have automatic updates on my computer. Not sure if I have to downlod a fix
and which one. I have Windows XP operating system.
