My outlook hangs

Dear Experts,

I am using exchange 5.5 for mail server & outlook XP as mail client. When I
make send/recieve for first time in the morning it hangs I have kill it
atleast thrice times to get all messages downloaded.
I am downloading all mails to personal folder.
Please advice me in this regards.

Clear the Deleted Items folder and run scanpst.exe against your pst-file. If
it still doesn't work recreate your mail profile;
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles...
