My printing options in the print dialog box aren't available what.

I want to print more than 1 email message on a page, the check box to do that
is grayed out, so are all the other options for printing. I tried to change
my printers properties but that didn't help. I also tried changing to a
different printer that didn't do anything either. Any ideas on what to try
next?
