My .pst has a tumor

I seem to have 2 outlook.pst files, one in My Docs that's
up to 261 MB and growing fast, and one in the Docs &
Settings/Local Settings/Microsoft/Outlook folder, that
seems to respond to my attempts to decrease it's size.
I'm concerned about hard drive space and want to decrease
Outlook's size. I have done all the things Help suggests
but the 261 MB doesn't decrease in size even though it's
apparently changed since it's last date modified is today.

A little help from anyone out there, please !

When you deleted something out of a pst-file and you want it to size down
immidiately you should rightclick the root of the folder-> Properties->
button Advanced and choose Compress Now...
