My screen rotated 90 deg right. can't undo

Someone punched a button while in microsoft word. It was probably a control
+ shift + something. now my entire screen is rotated 90 degrees to the
right. The mouse still operates in the right way, so I know it is a display
problem. But I can't find any control in Windows or in word, to undo the
rotation of the display.

Do you mean the text now runs top to bottom, or just that the page is
displayed landscape rather than portrait?
If the latter, File > Page Setup will fix it.

Change the rotation back to normal in Start | Control Panel | Display |
Graphics | Rotation.
