my security updates unable to be succesfully installed

for 10 days the same three updates give the following message error
"unable to be succesfully installed" this first one seems to be
important...why is it doing this? XP Professional has never done this?? how
do i correct

A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 that could
allow arbitrary code to run when opening a maliciously modified email. This
update resolves the vulnerability.
