"My server requires Authentication" Value keeps changing

Fake EMail Addy

Using Outlook 2003, Windows XPHome.
Install/Set up Outlook fine.
Create one Email account (POP3).
Works fine.

Then... after a few hours, "Unable to send to recipient.... Server not
found".
Check the state of the Sending server "My Server Requires Authentication"...
it is UNCHECKED.

So I change/check it, save....all is fine.

Turn off computer for the night.

Turn on the next morning... try to use EMail.
Same thing..... cannot send.

Again, and again, and again.

What keeps changing this value without my knowledge ???????????
