My Task: Start Date changes every day

G

Greg Jimson

Hi,

we are using My Tasks (Statusing) and we using the the table view (hours per
day). The table starts every day with a different day. How ever we would
like it to start every day with the beginning of the week.

Is there a way to configure this?

Thanks

Greg

From your description, I assume that you are using Project Server 2007 and
that you added the timesheet grid in place of the Progress column in each
user's My Tasks page in PWA. If this is the case, the system automatically
"centers" the current date in the middle of the timesheet grid. This means
that the timesheet grid "drifts" to the left every day, so that on Friday,
users can no longer see the Monday cell. This is a very annoying design
flaw in the timesheet grid on the My Tasks page. Microsoft is aware of the
issue and I believe they will address this in a future Service Pack or
Hotfix. Until then, you must teach your team members to use the Previous
and Next buttons on the toolbar at the top of the data grid on the My Tasks
page. Hope this helps.

There's a patch coming out in June (I believe, don't quote me on that)
that will do /exactly/ the thing you want.

I have heardn that as well.
In the mean time teach your users to click on the task and then the
task will open in a new webpart and then they will have an ordinary
grid, that doesn´t move and what is more important if you live
ourtside the US a grid, that actually responds to the server setting
regarding dateformat.
As it is today we have Danish on our server setting nut the grid doesn
´t respect that setting we can only see the US dateformat.

The date format issue is known and will be fixed (Once it's released,
I can give you a KB article) - and will of course be provided in SP2.
