My Tasks - How many hours have I entered for the day?

Is there any way for a resource to determine how many hours then have
entered for a given day in the "My Tasks" view?
The problem I'm running into is that resources were used to MSP2003
where the grid view allowed them to determine if they have accounted
for their entire day in project server - the new system does not seem
to have similar functionality in the "My tasks" view.

Is there any way to modify the "My Tasks" view or create a new view
that would provide comparable functionality?

Our organization is project based so we need the time to be submitted
to PMs for approval therefore timesheets won't work for us.

Thanks,

Nasir

Thanks Dale,

These methods are great for tracking time against an individual task,
but the problem my resources are running into is that before they
leave for the day they want to make sure that they have updated all
the tasks they did in a given day - each resource may be actively
working on multiple tasks. So the team members are looking to make
sure that they have reflected their 7 or 8 hour workday accurately in
their task udpates.

I have looked at the data analysis views but those are updated after
the fact (i.e. after the resources have submitted their time and the
PMs have approved/published).

Is there any other view that would provide a resource with a list of
time (by project/task) that they have entered for the current day?

Thanks,
Nasir

If your Project Server administrator specified the "Hours of Work Done per
Period" as your organization's method of tracking progress, then you team
members can enter their hours on a day by day basis by doing either of the
following:

1. Click in the Progress field for the task on the My Tasks page and the
system displays a floating daily timesheet grid.
2. Click the Name of the task to navigate to the Assignment Details page,
which contains a daily timesheet grid.

I prefer the second method, because it allows the team members can enter
additional information about the task update beyond the daily hours. Hope
this helps.

Now I understand. Thanks for the clarification. No, I am not aware of any
such View for team members. Sorry.

Indeed, the resource has no way to see if he has entered his 7-8 hours/ day

A few weeks ago, we tried to find an answer to that "problem". Unfortunately
we could not find any default solution.

Maybe some programming work in the MyTasks page will be necessary...if it is
possible?
