My Tasks not displaying assigned tasks (PWA 2007)

M

Mark

After assigning resources and publishing a project, the assigned tasks are
not displayed under My Tasks for the respective resources; however, these
tasks--which are within the 10 day look ahead threshold--are on the My Tasks
list for the task owner who created the project.

Mark:

If you want tasks to appear on the resource My Tasks page, you must set the
assignment owner to the resource. You should probably set the default
assignment owner for each resource to the resource itself. If this value is
blank, the system sends the assignments to the project manager's My Task
page.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Apparently we failed to
specify the default assignment owner during our initial config--live and
learn. It does seem sort of silly for the system to default to the project
manager.

FYI

1) If you create resources from Project Professional (checked-out enterprise
global), it will leave the Default Assignment Owner and the Status Manager
fields both blank.

2) If you create resources from PWA, it automatically sets these values to
the resource itself.

3) You cannot edit the Defualt Assignment Owner or Status Manager fields in
Project Professional. You can only do it from PWA which means you have to
set these values one at a time. There is an option in PWA to set these
values in bulk but if your goal is to set each resource as their own DAO and
SM then you have to do it in PWA one account at a time.

Sorry,
