My Tasks: Notification that tasks will be delayed

Hello,

What is the best practice for resources indicating their tasks are blocked
in the "My Tasks" page? For example, if the task is scheduled to start on
9/30 for 5 days but the resource knows he/she won't be able to start the task
until 10/6, what is the best way to indicate this?

I would recommend any of the following:

1. A personal visit, a phone call, or e-mail to the project manager (good
human communication).
2. A Note on the task indicating the new likely Start date.

The resource can also modify the planned Start date of the task, but
frankly, I don't really recommend that. If you want your team members to
adjust the Start date, I would recommend that you MANDATE that they add a
task Note to document the reason for doing so. Hope this helps.

Ok, was thinking that there might be some sort of checkbox, etc, that could
indicate a warning, but adding a note to the task also sounds reasonable.
However, I agree that communication is key here.
