"My Tasks" webpart appearing twice

Hi,

We are using Project Server 2007. I am the only administrator (full
administrator). Three weeks ago we applied the infrastructure hotfix and
things have not been the same.

It seems our webpart was reverted back to days instead of hours and a few
other settings changed...no biggie. I went into the webpart and changed;
however, that information was not changed globally....well it was kind
of....two "My Tasks" webparts now show up on the screen for everyone. One of
them being called "My Tasks (2)" Do I have to have each individual user
remove that from their screen and set their own settings in the webpart to
hours instead of days. If so, this is going to be a nightmare.

Does anyone have a better way?

Are you certain of cause and effect here? The sequence of events sounds
suspicious, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised by anything at this point.
Are you seeing double, too? If so, have you tried deleting the second
insertion of the web part?

We have had the same problem too, after installing the infrastructure update.
We have not been able to find a common link for the issue. Some people have
the my tasks web part displayed twice some do not. Removing the web part
works but is not at all a practical way to fix the problem.

Yes, we have users remove the webpart but they have to configure the webpart
themselves as well by going in and changing the defaults from days to hours.
I really don't want Team Members worried about that. If you happen to find a
solution please keep me informed.

Thanks!

Thanks Nate, I agree it is not practical. Nice to know I am not alone and
crazy...lol.

Hi,

we've had the same issue with two of our customers after the IU installation
(well not _exactly the same_ since the Web Part is not appearing twice, but
the defaults will be set as days instead of hours) and would very much like
to see a resolution and/or workaround for this other than: "have all your
PWA-users modify their Web Part settings".
This may in reality mean work for hundreds of people, whereas one central
solution could solve this in 5 mins.

Yeah, I agree. We sent out a job aid but I would have preferred a different
method.
