My Timesheets and My tasks

Hello,
could anyone explain me the advantages of using Timesheets versus using only
the My Tasks.
I am aware that timesheets can be used to report non-project work, like
studying, internal meetings, preprations, etc, but I could create a project
to include those kind of tasks and report everytihing in the Mytasks zone,
what are the advantages of using Timesheets?
Using both will make life of the team members harder as they will have to
update times in 2 places, I am surelly missing up something... Can anyone
clarify me please?

Thanks!
Elsa

Depending on what your particular requirements are My task page might
suffice. Some things you can do easily in My Timesheets are to add
additional tasks as required to the timesheet, you can book time to
summary tasks (some people will not think this is a good idea).
Critically timesheet data is kept separate from project data and can
be reported on, whereas My Task data is controlled by Project plans.

Thanks Mike for your reply. I guess I am going to play a little with both and
then make my decision of using or not using Timesheets.

MyTasks updates a project, whereas Timesheet entries have no impact to
project schedule.

Thanks /pd and Nelson for your contribute, I will process all the information
and then decide to use or not Timesheets.
Thanks!
