my version of office is now unsupported, can I upgrade?

office 97 now unsupported by MS, is it possible to upgrade this old version
to a newer one online? If so how?

It qualifies as an upgrade. Purchase your upgrade version from your
favorite software store, or, as many have recommended, from Amazon.com
