My whole office suite won't run

N

Nolie75

I am running microsoft office 2003 student and teacher eddition (I'm pretty
sure that's my version) and when i try to open anything it won't let me do
anything in the programs. For example
1. In microsoft word I can see all of my toolbars and the program has fully
loaded, but i can't do anything and eventually windows says it's not
responding
2. With outlook it doesn't even show the small box that says loading
microsoft outlook express
3. In microsoft excel the same problem occurs as in word
4. In microsoft powerpoint the same thing happens as in word and excel

Please, any help will be grately appreciated. ( I start school again in a
little over 1 week and need office to be up and running by then...)

Thnx,

Yes it has worked for months, it only stopped working about 1 month ago. I
have tried googling things and looking on support.microsoft.com but no
questions addressed my issues and that's when i posted this question.

Have you activated the suite? Without activating it the software will stop
working after a period of time. Outlook is part of Office. Outlook Express
is not part of Office but is part of Windows.

Yes I do... (by the way I sent u an e-mail to ur adress...) Could it not be
working because one of my dll's is missing or something... I think I might
have accidentaly deleted one of them...

I can't even close the program. When I do the microsoft thing pops up and it
says program is not responding and even then i can't close it if i say End
program. The only way for me to close it is to hit cntrl alt delete then go
to the processes tab. Then i have to go down to winword.exe and say end
process. Then it says something like this may cause other programs to not
work (or something to that extent) I say yes and then most of the time it
will close...

I didn't want to lose all of my personal documents and stuff because
1. It would take 4ever!!!!!!!!! to get them back on
2. It's alot of school work too.
And I didn't dump one version on top of another. I put my boot disk in. Did
the install windows option. After that there is another screen that says
wether you want to repair windows or reinstall it. What I did was repair.
That meens that It restores my operating system to it's original state,

might
have accidentaly deleted one of them...

I can't even close the program. When I do the microsoft thing
pops
up
and
it
says program is not responding and even then i can't close it if
i
say
End
program. The only way for me to close it is to hit cntrl alt
delete
then
go
to the processes tab. Then i have to go down to winword.exe and
say
end
process. Then it says something like this may cause other
programs
to
not
work (or something to that extent) I say yes and then most of the
time
it
will close...

Any suggestions,
Thnx,

I am running microsoft office 2003 student and teacher

sure that's my version) and when i try to open anything it
won't
let
me
do
anything in the programs. For example
1. In microsoft word I can see all of my toolbars and the
program
has
fully
loaded, but i can't do anything and eventually windows says
it's
not
responding
2. With outlook it doesn't even show the small box that
says
loading
microsoft outlook express
3. In microsoft excel the same problem occurs as in word
4. In microsoft powerpoint the same thing happens as in
word
and
excel

Please, any help will be grately appreciated. ( I start
school
again
in
a
little over 1 week and need office to be up and running by
then...)

I am going to assume by your comment #1 that you don't create backup files.

That meens that It restores my operating system to it's original state,
without wiping out any of my personal files.

Any help???

"Repaired" sounds like dumped one version on top of another. Ideally you
should have wiped it out completely then reinstalled everything.

I "repaired" my opperating system "Windows xp media center 2005"

:

Did you do a reformat and reinstall or just dump one version in on top
of
another?

Lol yah i know, I think I might have deleted it by installing
another
program, but I found out that that wasn't the issue becuase I
reinstalled
my
operating system. And it still doesn't
work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plz,
Any help???

I have to ask - How would you have accidentally deleted a .dll
file?

Yes I do... (by the way I sent u an e-mail to ur adress...) Could
it
not
be
working because one of my dll's is missing or something... I
think I
might
have accidentaly deleted one of them...

I didn't note if using Detect and Repair or uninstalling and
reinstalling Office 2003 was ever suggested. Have you tried either of
these?

Since you are unable to start any Office application I suspect you'll
be unable to access Detect and Repair found under the Help menu in all
of the application. So in the Control Panel open Add/Remove Programs
and if you use Change for the Office 2003 installation you'll find an
option for "Reinstall or Repair".

Yah, I can't open detect and repair and I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling on all of the different levels of options. I also have tride
repair countless times, but thnx for the idea...

Thnx,

P.S. Please if anybody else has any suggestions I am open to all of them thnx

Since you have tried Detect and Repair as well as
uninstalling/reinstalling then the next step is to see if the Office
application run in Windows Safe Mode. If you do not know how to start
Windows in Safe Mode then follow the steps in this article:

By the way... I have narrowed down the problem of that all of my "microsoft
office tools" work except picture manager. The other 4 programs don't work.
1. Microsoft Word
2. Microsoft Excel
3. Microsoft Powerpoint
4. Microsoft Outlook

Hope that helps
