mysql or access

J

JEROME

I have learned my host (easyspace) uses iasp and not asp, therefore i cannot
use access within FP for my database. I would have to use their Mysql.
Should I change to a host that accepts asp or pay the £25/annum for their
Mysql.
My site requires a way of giving a price to customers by choosing from a few
drop down boxes.
PS I have a limited amount of access knowledge and zero on Mysql.
Thanks in advance.

The reason you cannot use Access is not the difference between iASP and ASP,
but the server Operating System. Access will not run on Unix servers.
I would go for another host. £25.00/annum (+VAT) is a lot to pay for what
other hosts often include as part of the package.
This is not a recommendation (I've only read the brochure), but compare the
business packages at www.1and1.co.uk with your current setup at Easyspace.
