Mysterious sound notifications without new messages in Outlook 200

I have gotten a few "dings" today meaning that I've received a new email
message. But no message appears in any of my folders (inbox, junk mail, etc).
The new mail icon (envelope) also appears on the toolbar at the bottom right
of my screen. I don't know where these messages are going, or if I am just
getting phantom dings?
When I send myself a test message from another account it comes through fine.

Any ideas?

Aloha LM,

Any rules set to move messages to other folders? Could they be read or delivery
receipts that are being automatically processed and then deleted?
