Mysteriously lost data

Denise

Recently, after several months of using this multi-user
dbs with back-end and front-end files, data has just
disappeared. In the case of old records only recent
changes disappeared. New records that were entered
disappeared.
When troubleshooting we did find one computer with many
db files that had not closed saved on the computer. The
backend file had tripled in size and needed to be
compacted and repaired.
Also, it's possible that the users may have ignored any
error messages.
What has happened? How can we avoid this in the future?

We are having the exact same problem with a shared Access
2002 database. Have you received any solutions yet? I'd
be grateful if you or others could share any
information. Many thanks.

Denise,
Is it possible that there are different copies of the backend database and
that the links have been messed up, so that changes were made to the wrong
backend?

In my case, there is only one copy of the backend file
that everyone shares.
