Mystery Marks

Jeff

I am working on a newly installed Word 2002 at home.
When I start a new document there are "crop marks"
displayed in each corner.

Doeas anyone know how to turn these off?

They are so annoying an interfere with my document
creation! much thanks!

What you are seeing is probably the text boundaries. To turn them off:
Tools>Options>View ...
Under Print and Web Layout Options make sure there is no checkmark beside
Text Boundaries

It *is* the problem, unfortunately the crop marks are tied in with Asian
languages and you need to disable the Asian language settings under
Microsoft Office Tools > Office XP language settings before this switch has
any effect.

The solution has already been provided in this thread. Go to Start |
Programs | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office XP Language Settings
and disable support for any Asian languages.
