Narration missing

M

Marcy

When I listen to a pps file that's on one of my company servers, I can hear
the narration fine. If I save the pps file to my hard drive, I can't hear
anything. I want to save this file before it's deleted and I need the
narration. What am I not doing? Is the audio saved as a separate file on the
server somewhere? Getting help from the server people is not an option.
Thanks

The narration appears to be linked in your case. You will probably need to
save the entire folder with the presentation and the narration files to your
local disk.

By default if the narration file is a .WAV file it is inserted and travels
with the presentation. If it is a .WAV file and exceeds the max allowed as
set in Tools>Options>General, it will like all other audio/video files be
linked to the presentation and have to accompany the presentation to your
new computer.

Can you see a speaker icon anywhere. If so edit > sound object will tell you
if it is embedded ("part of presentation") or not in which case the path to
the file will be shown.
