Nav Pane show incoming msgs tally

when i select Mail+Personal folders, i get the Nav Pane, showing my calendar,
tasks and messages. Under messages is a numberical tally of incoming emails.
My inbox tally reflects emails to my ISP address, but not to Hotmail. How
can i get that tally to include Hotmail messages?
