navigating between ppt and Access

Is it possible to insert a button to open a read only version of an Access
database file, and then have a second button in Access to close the file and
return to where you were in the presentation?

Office 2002
windows xp

(apologies if this is already posted - I wrote it a couple of days ago, but
can't find it so I maybe clicked the wrong button)

Peter,

Here's the reply from the other day...

in powerpoint you can draw a shape, say a rectangle (autoshape)

right click it and choose
"action settings"

then you can say to powerpoint... "on mouse click" do something

such as "run a program"

or "hyperlink" to a file, so linking to an access file (assuming your file
associations are all hunky dory), would open access and the file.

quitting from access would return you back to powerpoint from whence you
came

Thanks for your suggestion. I am not sure that it helps.

The reason I specified Access is that this is a ppt file to be copied to CD
and distributed. I think I have a handle on inserting Excel and Word as
objects via "Insert object", but that feature doesn't cover Access files.
Action Settings asks for the *program*, not the file. So the pathway for a
hyperlink would be a problem unless I can add an Access viewer, and browsing
Microsofts sites hasn't revealed one to me yet.
