Navigation buttons in Powerpoint 2003

How do I turn off the automatic navigation buttons at the bottom left when I
am in Powerpoint show? I want to put my own navigation button in the bottom
left, but the automatic buttons are getting in the way.

In tools > options > view tab >uncheck Show popup toolbar
