Navigation quagmire

Steve

I'm having trouble with a disk-based site I just published
relating to my navigation bar and custom link bar. Each
are part of a dwt as a web component (the nav bar is an
included page). A style sheet is attached to the dwt (and
the nav bar page). It works fine on my local machine but
it gets fouled up on the remote server.

It appears that these components are not being properly
propagated by the dwt; I lose the dhtml effects in the nav
bar (no submenus appear and the interactive buttons don't
change) but I can correct that by going into each page and
replacing the web bot directly. The link bar is a bit
more strange. I now see only some of the links on the
published version, and I'm seeing an older version of the
link bar -- I created a new one and put that in the dwt
instead.

Also, a hot spot on a graphic does not propagate from the
dwt. The graphic is in a div. This is presumably a
separate issue.

I think I brought this on myself by being too cautious
during development and duplicating this site to preserve a
version to go back to that worked in case I messed up. A
hint is that I have a ton of broken hyperlinks on my
report -- almost all (if not all at this point) relating
to navigation images. They point to url's outside my web
or in folders on my web where the images do not reside.
Recalculating hyperlinks seems to have no effect.

How can I reset the links to clean this up? It seems to
me that's my problem. Or, what else may be wrong? Out of
ideas, I have tried deleting the site from the remote
server and reloading, to no avail. Thanks!
