Need 100% uninstall of Office 2003

There is a custom installation of Office 2003 that was rolled out that has
some errors in it (Exchange Server changed later for Outlook settings as
well as other problems causing an error saying "default mail folders cannot
be opened") and we cannot get the errors corrected, so we would like to
start the Office installation over without reinstalling Windows.
I've tried uninstalling Office via add/remove programs. That didn't do it.

I have also tried the Office removal tool in the resource kit, but whenever
we reinstall Office, the changes from the original transform are still there
even though that MST file is not being used.
Apparently even this tool is only a partial uninstall of Office.

How can we remove all traces of the custom settings?

First, have you try searching the entire registry for where your Office was
installed and see if there are any remnants.

Next check C:\Program Files\Common Files\.... for remnants
Then check each user's C:\Documents and Settings\... for remnants (inclusive
of 'All Users')
I would also run a Registry Cleanup tool (CCleaner) and just check to see
what is left over. Just run it to get the report and see how efficient
everyone's Uninstall worked?
