need a server for fp

P

Pam

I'm looking for a new hosting service for my frontpage webs - I have about
15 that I would like to move to a new server due to constant problems with
getting email thru this server. I would like to find a server that allows
unlimited domains and of course, one that is reliable and up 99.9% of the
time :)

thanks for your help!

Unlimited domains has me puzzled, as you have to pay for them no matter
where you host.

There are many hosting companies out there that can handle what you
need.

I use www.123ehost.com

( Because they were the first host I ever used, and they've never let me
down )

Hi Steve.....

You mentioned that you use 123ehost.com for hosting your web/s and I was
wondering if you were aware of any FrontPage features that this host will
not allow. My current web host recently stopped allowing me to password
protect sub webs with FrontPage Extension web interface. They said that it
posed a problem for security and that people were deleting parts of their
web sites by allowing this feature to be available. I see that they have the
ability to password protect directories with their own web interface but
didn't see anything about any specific FrontPage features that they don't
support.

Thanks
Jeff

They don't support Access or SQL for databases, or ASP
Instead you have to use MySQL, PHP, Pearl etc.

They support FrontPage extensions, so all features that use extensions
are supported.

Also there is quite a list of features that are available within the web
masters CPanel.
Web Protect, ( the password protection feature ) Entropy Search, custom
error pages
just to name a few.

Web Protect is one of my favorites. Create a new folder, publish, open
the CPanel, make the folder protected and then publish to it with
FrontPage just like any other folder.
The protection is transparent to FrontPage when publishing from your
machine, but it is in effect when you try to open the folder live in
FrontPage.

They will also let you run any custom server side script you want, as
long as it doesn't effect server performance.

fwiw, I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I've just been happy with
them.
