Need Advice on Table structure

F

Hi, Could someone please be good enough to have a quick look at my
thread entitled:
"These tables look OK? " (October 27th, 2005 10:48 PM
by ffisher),
and let me know where I'm going wrong?
I'm at my wits end as to how to make the table in question more
elegant.
Thanks

Just a suggestion here. You might get better results if you post the
pertinent details in a message. Many people are reluctant to download files
of any sort. There are so many malaria problems floating about these days,
it just isn't safe.

Uhh, that was supposed to be malware problems, I'm not sure where malaria
came from.

Thanks to Randy harris and Amal for replying,
I understand now why I got no replies re the attachment.
Okay, so here's the list of tables and assocciated fields. Please don't
laugh!

I KNOW that it's not perfect as when I come to link the relationships I
get stuck with the PK in the tblWhichBridalFair linking to FKs in the
tblBookings, tblOutgoings and the tblOtherIncome. I'm sure this isn't
right but I can see no other way of arranging my tables and fields to
meet the objective of the database.

Which is:
"The concept of the database is briefly to describe a fair from the
view point of the fair organiser. Included are lists of the
stallholders (sellers) and various other tables to enable the organiser
to ascertain costs and resources."

Here are the tables and fields.

tblBookings
Booking_ID, Seller_ID, WhichFair_ID, Location_ ID, Stand, 2nd Stand,
Hire Tables, Booked, Arrived, No-Show, Cancelled

tblOtherIncome
ID, WhichFair_ID, Food

tblOutgoings
ID, WhichFair_ID, StaffCostsID, Marquee, Generator, Tables, Food, Radio
Advertising, Newspaper Advertising, Inkjet Cartridges, Consultants

tblPersonalRelationships
ID, WhichFair_ID, Seller, Seller2, DoNotGetOn

tblPrices
PriceID, WhichFair_ID, Booking_ID, Item, PricePerItem

tblSellers
Seller_ID, Company Name, Contact Name, Profession, Tel: No, Post Code,
Street No, Street Name, County

tblSellersProduct
Product_ID, Product_Name

tblStaffCosts
ID, Staff ID, Number of hours, Price per Hour

tblStaffUsed
Staff ID, Surname, Forename, Position

tblStandLocations
Location ID, Location

tblWhichBridal Fair
WhichFairID, Location_ID, Month, Year

tblWhoSellsWhat
Product_ID, Sellers_ID

I really would appreciate if someone can help me to see how to produce
a more elagant solution to my table creation, to meet the above
objectives.
Thanks.

Randy,

Malaria *is* a virus . . . so it seemed like a reasonable statement to
me.
