Need advice on upgrading from Front Page

I've read every post on this discussion board and spent a good 2 hours at the
Microsoft site...and still I can't figure out which program is best for my
situation: Share Point Designer or Web Expression. I create/administer a
small website for my college's faculty association--nothing fancy, mostly
just informational stuff--and I am most decidedly NOT an expert web designer.
I authored the site using Front Page, and am considering upgrading the
software...but can't decide which program to use. FYI, the site is
www.sierrafaculty.net if that would help you in providing advice.

Thanks so much!

Hi Joan,

It does get a bit confusing :) If you're not going to be working with a sharepoint website then MS Expression web may be the right
choice of the 5 MS tools for web editing.

As you're upgrading from FrontPage, you may find it helpful to use the link below to also post in the MS Office FrontPage discussion
group and include the version of FrontPage you're using and some details on the features you use or are looking for.

Thanks, Bob...I should have mentioned that although I haven't been using
SharePoint services, the web host that I use (West Host) DOES have
SharePoint. Does that make a difference?

Hi Joan,

MS Office Sharepoint Designer and MS Expression Web were built from the same base, but are likely to diverge from that point more in
the future. The folks in the FrontPage discussion group are usually also the ones in both the Expression Web and MS Office
Sharepoint Designer (link below) groups. Sharepoint does offer some interesting opportunities for collaboration that you may find
useful and Sharepoint Designer would let you explore those.

There are trial copies available of both products
http://office.microsoft.com/sharepointdesigner
http://microsoft.com/expression
I would expect the MS Expression series will evolve more into 'pizazz' and web feature capabilities vs. business site services, but
that's just a guess :)
