Need advise for a quick user friendly interface

I am trying to make a user friendly selection form.
You are picking out your carpet for your home.
There is the Standard, Upgrade 1, Upgrade2 and Custom Options then
- you choose the manufacturer from a list of manufacturers then
- you choose the style from a list of style from manufacturers then
- you choose the color pertinent to that style and manufacturer then
- you choose standard padding or upgrade padding
- then you choose the room it is for from the floorplan

I would appreciate any advise on making this work easily.

When I am choosing a carpet I know which type of room it is for, the size..
I know how much I can spend. After i had entered those facts would want to
pick the general color from a color chart.

From then on I would be expecting to work with images of the carpets,
allowing the customer to reject carpets. When the customer was rejecting the
last carpet with a particular quality I would warn the customer of the fact.
e.g. this is the last super soft carpet within your budget.

If the first questions I was asked was about customer options, standard or
upgrade, whatever they might be, or which manufacturer, I would be out the
door.

I agree for the most part. Another way to deal with this is to start with
picking the color, quality, then list the related manufacturers for the
user's choice through a cascading combo. The user can then select the size
and receive a price calculation report based on sq ft. and cost based on the
user's selection.
