Need help changing Word 2003 Registry Settings

By default, Final, Comments, Ink Annotations, Insertions and Deletions, and
Formatting are checked under Show on the Review Toolbar.

I'm looking for a way to set the registry settings in Microsoft Office Word
2003 to change these defaults.

I know they are located in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Data

Because they are in binary format, I don't know which line/s to change and
what to change them to.

Open the registry editor. Export the setting. Open Word and change the
settings manually. Now go back to regedit and export the setting again, to a
new file. Use Word to compare the two files (.reg files are plain text). The
differences are the changes you need to make.

That said, if you've going to use code to make the changes, why not make
them through Word rather than going to the registry?

Don't even think of diddling the binary values in the data key. For
one thing, the layout of the values isn't publically documented, and
anything you read about it on the Web is suspect. For another, if you
get just one bit out of place, at best you'll get the wrong settings
and more likely you'll get Word into a state where it won't start.

When you change the settings in Word, that will change the registry
value to match. Do it the "legal" way and you won't risk a disaster.

http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/DataKeySettings.htm has
some information, but not what you're asking for.
