Need help inserting music track into a PP presentation

When I go to Insert, Movies and Sounds, Sound from File
and then I change the File Type to show All Files, and
then I click on the track I would like to insert, I get a
popup message that says, "PP could not insert a sound
from the selected file."

I have inserted songs before form My Music file but can't
figure out this problem.

Lonnie, PowerPoint cannot insert all types of sound files.

You should be fine with these file formats:

WAV, MP3, WMA

You can also insert other formats like AIFF but I'll suggest you use only
the above formats for compatibility reasons.
