Need help on how to syncronize one remote site from two different locations.

HI! I need to know the method used in FP 2003 to edit 1 remote website but
from 2 different locations.

At the moment I use FP's FTP option to publish and when I change locations I
click the remote to local setting and then click publish BUT it usually
gives me an error like " _vti_* does not exist on local OR it says something
like it. I then have to drag and drop the changed file from the remote to
the local manually in FP.

What is the right way to synchronize the remote with the local?

thanks in advance :)

You can only work on a remote site that has FP extensions via http, not FTP.

HI! I am not sure I understand, are you saying in other words that the FTP
option in FP is only used as a direct FTP ( like any other FTP program ) and
does not include any other the other options that the HTTP publishing
offers.?

I do notice that when I publish that FP does do a lookup on the remote site
in FTP and checks to see the differences between what on the remote compared
to what is on the local.( as it often sees files that I have changed and
files that I have delete in the local and asks if I want to delete the
remote as well as adding files to the remote that I have added in the
local.) this does indicate that its doing a bit more than what I normal FTP
program would do. or am I wrong or am I missing the point.?

FP does do some checking via FTP, but not as well as it does when publishing via http to a server
that has the FP extensions.

HI! thanks, I will see if I can use the http method to publish, I wanted to
use that method in the first place but it was rejecting my username and
password for some reason. and I don't have direct access to the server to
check for myself. I asked the server admin if the username & password were
different when accessing http versus FTP and he said they were all the same.
and he does not know FrontPage and the way he spoke makes me wonder if he is
familiar with IIS server authoriting permissions.

I wonder if he set the username in a group that has http authoriting
read/write permissions.
