Need help, please. Office XP activation

I recently installed Office XP for Small Business over my
previous Office XP with Front page. Now when I open any
Office program, the activation wizard attempts to open...
but just hangs there for minutes on end.

I am running Windows XP Pro and am currently trying to
update it with all the patches and service packs I can
get. I'm also having a Java error of some kind in Internet
Explorer 6... which won't accept the SP1 update for some
reason.

Please help.

Hi John,

It could be that you have received no replies because those of us who
hang out here do not know the answers to your questions. :)

Activation issues really should be addressed with Microsoft Support.

As for your IE error may have better luck posting to either an IE or
Windows XP newsgroup. When you do post make sure you provide the full
error message you are encountering.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.

Hi John,

The scenario you used, adding Office XP SBE (OEM) *over* the higher, Office XP Professional with FrontPage (Enterprise) is a rather
odd one. You may want to use Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel and remove Office XP entirely (backup your files
first), remove the Office Program Files folder then restart the PC and install from the CDs that you have.

It's possible that you may also have to zap some registry entries related to Office.
