Need help w/playing a sound on my computer, not a cd

I am trying to play a track that is on my computer, not on a cd. However,
you only have the option of playing a sound from file or a cd track. When I
play it from a file and point to it on the computer - it doesn't play (a
windows media file) and when I burn it to cd and point to it there it doesn't
work either. Does somebody know a way to play it from the computer? Thanks

What is the name of the files extension? (mp3, wma, etc.)

Ok, the CDA is not a file, it is simply a pointer to the track on the CD.
If you "ripped" the file from a commercial CD with Windows Media Player the
file contains DRM (Digital Rights Management) and you can not use it in
anything but Media Player. In other words you don't have the rights to
re-publish it in your presentation. Sorry...
