I manage a newsletter for a local group and every month I need to display
birthdays. I have about 200 members in my Excel 2000 file. I have a custom
number display set up that only displays the Month-Day. I am not interested
in the year. When I enter a new member, I only enter 9/20. It is then
displayed correctly as Sep 20. However. When I try to sort by date, so as
to make it easier to pick out the October birthdays, they are all over the
place. I finally realized that the current year was added when the data was
originally entered. So all of the dates are sorted by the year entered, then
the month. Is there any way to 1) enter dates with no reference to year? or
2/ sort data without regard to year? Thank you.
