need help with distribution list

I recently bought new computer with Windows XP and Office
XP. No problem in transferring data from old (office 2000)
contact lists to new contact.

However, in creating new distribution lists, the list
shows e-mail address in both the "NAME" column and
the "EMAIL ADDRESS" column. The lists works for mailing,
but can't understand why the "NAME" column doesn't display
name instead of a duplicate display of e-mail addresses.
This is annoying because some email addresses make it hard
to decipher the name.

I have searched the net, read the books, can't get a
solution. Have tried numereous attempts, but can't get
the "NAME" column to display names. Any help -- Please
