need help with sound

I am trying to incorporate an MP3 file into my powerpoint presentation but I
can only add a WAV file, is there anyway I can put the MP3 file in instead of
the WAV because its smaller and quicker to send

MP3 files will play in all versions of PowerPoint 2000 and up. They are linked,
and not embedded. Wav files are the only files that get embedded into
PowerPoint. There is a utility out there called CDex that will change the header
of your MP3 file and make it seem like a wav file to PowerPoint check here
