need help with word sections

D

David

What I would like to do is create sections in Word -
similar to that of the Office help-file and similar to
that of the sections created in Lotus Notes - I have
played with form documents and drop down lists - not what
I am looking for - I need sections that can expand when
you click on them - if you look at the Office help file or
have ever used Lotus Notes you will know what I mean

Perhaps you want to turn on the Document map. However, the document map only
works (to my knowledge) if you use Heading styles in your doc.

Hope this helps!

First, sections is a term of art in Word and you are likely to get all sorts
of advice about those sections, which are clearly not what you mean.

I suspect a table, with or without borders might suit you. You can have the
table cells grow to accept additional content.

If you were more clear about what result you are looking for (for those of
us without experience with Lotus Notes) it might help us suggest a solution
closer to your aims.

Also, which version of Word are you using?

Alternately, Outline View will put clickable expandable pluses that let you
show or hide the full text of paragraphs. You would still need to use Styles
with outline-levels attached (Heading styles would be easiest), and it
doesn't look that great, in my opinion.
