need help

I am looking for a way or a utility to do the following
with any MS office document
1>make different versions of a file and keep track of them
2>generate the date and time of the creation of version
3>be able to retreive all the versions

You seem to be asking for something like a source code control system. Look
for CVS - http://www.cvshome.org/ - its free and very good. See if that
meets your requirements.
